Lifestar Observer Program



Our observer program is designed to provide a clinical learning experience for members of the health care community in the Lifestar service area. It will provide the opportunity to become knowledgeable in the operations and patient care probided in the air transport setting.

Eligibility

  1. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the scheduled shift.
  2. The candidate must be currently employed as an EMT-P, Firefighter, RN or MD at a hospital or Fire department in the Lifestar service area.
  3. Students of EMT-P and Nursing programs will be considered on a space available basis.
  4. Candidates must provide a letter of good standing and approval for participation in the observer program from their repective chief officer, manager, attending physician or clinical instructor with their applilcation.
  5. Candidates must not be pregnant, suffer from motion sickness or have any serious medical conditions that would preclude them from functioning safely in or around the aircraft.
  6. Due to the high demand for obersvation shifts you will be allowed to shcedule only 1 shift per 36 months.

Please include the following documents with your completed application:

  1. Copy of valid drivers license or state issued ID card.
  2. Letter of good standing and approval from your department supervisor on official letterhead (LUMC physicians are exempt from this requirement).
  3. Copy of your applicable state license.

A Lifestar representative will contact you once we have received your application in order to schedule your obervation shift.
